Secure and Confident
I have been using 1Password for a year or two now. Like most people, I used to use a few short easily remembered passwords to protect my numerous logins, bank accounts, and other private information. As I read about one frightening data breach after another, I came to understand that my idea of security was naïve. I now use a long meaningless password string that is unique to each account and impossible to memorize or guess. The only password I know is the one that enables 1Password to decrypt all the rest. 1Password recognizes the account or site I’m in, andI enters the username and password for that account for me. I never even see the passwords. The process is good, but not flawless. When the streamlined procedure fails, usually because of site idiosyncrasies, 1Password provides plenty of workarounds and alternatives. I’ve never been locked out of an account. The developers seem to know what they are doing.
